Hi All, This afternoon I tuned a Kawai GE-1 with plastic hammer shank flanges. Several notes in the mid treble had clicks. I isolated the noise down the the center bushing. The swings of the hammer on the clicking ones and non-clicking one were about 7-8. Is it better to put on new plastic flanges, thinking that the center pin is OK in the bushing or just install a larger center pin in the original plastic flange and ream the bushing as necessary? Why do they make the plastic parts the same color as wood, just to trick us?
