In a message dated 98-10-20 11:01:56 EDT, you write: << I've read a couple of articles by Rappaport and Spurlock about rebuilding wippens, Seeing the cost of them, $600+ with the factor that I am restoring a 1920's Ampico system, wouldn't the value for original parts be more than replacing them? If anyone has ever rebuilt wippens and had positive results please respond, I would like to know about how long it takes to weigh in the economics of whether to do myself or just buy the new part. Thanks, Eliot Lee >> This comes down to whether you want your customer to pay your time to restore the wippens, or to pay the price of new ones. If replacement parts are available, and can be used, in my opinion, it would be better if you bought new ones. It will save you a considerable amount of time, which you can use that time to make money doing something else. Wim
