A Short Primer on General Tuning Procedure and Theory

The general concept is to get all your ducks, I mean, notes (12) evenly
spaced in a row located between two walls (the octave). Tuning requires
listening and comparing partials of these notes to each other to determine
how evenly spaced, or not, they are.

When you have accomplished the desired result, you have a temperament.
Tuning all the other notes on the piano are derived from that foundational
temperament.

There are visually tuning devices currently on the market that can achieve
remarkable results in tuning pianos Two such devices are the Sanderson
Accu-Tuner and the Reyburn CyberTuner. Both were invented by aural tuners.

Voila!
