First, there is the stigma plastic carries, that if it's plastic, it's cheap (is PVC plastic?). Second, piano manufacturers have gotten burned in the past by using plastic, teflon, whatever. It may be just fine to use this PVC stuff, but I can't blame them for being super-cautious when making pianos that may be around up to a hundred years later. Clyde Hollinger
