Dave, I place the Vagius tops to where they are centered in the front. And look to see where the notch falls when the over hang is at the right spot. There is a bit of fudge room here, not a lot, but a bit. To keep from notching you can slightly hang the short head into the notch area and do the same on the front area ... in the worst case scenario you cheat a little on the overhang and notch but it is rare. These keys are the right size. I do not order with fronts. I usually clean up the fronts with the solvents that others have mentioned in a previous thread. Then if they are yellowed to the point where I think they will look bad, I line 'em up and shoot 'em white. Clean look simple job. You will learn more by getting your first set and doing it, than I could ever describe here. The best tip for saving time though was the glue applicator rather than brushing on. Ed Tomlinson << If you place the Vagius tops so there is nothing notch don't you have to trim and file the overhang to the norm? In another post you said with careful placement often there is not much to trim. In my experience key width varies quite a bit and I always have to trim the side even with the key. Are the Vagius tops narrower than typical Schaff/Pianotek keytops? Do they come with fronts? David Ilvedson, RPT >>
