bridle straps

For years I have used my fingers.  WIth the wippens hanging down there
is enough room.  I orient the clip the way I want it to go on and hodl
the clip end with my thumb with the clip resting on my index finger,
move the hammer forward with the other hand then push it on.  WOrks fast
and fine.

I have shortened the strap by folding it once or twice around the clip
(180 or 360 degrees).  With one fold you need to but a twist in the
strap to have the plastic part upward.
