Zapper and Regulating Button Rails

Hi all,

ZAPPER Try a model train transformer Dick (so many Dicks, and not enough
Richards eh??) I've laid my wet hand across a model train track with the
current turned all the way up and simply felt a mild tingling sensation that
resembled a very minor burn, but wasn't. The better transformers have
breakers built in so they go ...... temporarily when the load is too heavy.
Usually, I would think, it would be enough to heat up the center pin just
enough to accomplish the job you seek ...... be it temporary at that.

FROZEN REG RAIL BUTTON SCREW EYES

Funny this should come up. I just did one. I removed the rail from the
piano after breaking off a few first. I took it home and soaked each screw
eye with Protec CLP ..... that would be the thin stuff. I doused about 5
or so, then heated them up with a cigarette lighter. The lube catches fire
briefly, but that's just the stuff on the outside. You want it to penetrate
the wood to get at the binding junk that is keeping the screw from moving
with out breaking. I held the rail so that the flame would heat three or
four at a time and then moved back and forth to cover 5 or 6 at a time for
about 10 seconds or maybe less. I followed that with an additional dousing
of Protec, and then using THE TOOL I wiggled them to and fro gently until
they broke loose. I managed to loosen the entire set only having to drill
out 5 of them and 3 of those were because I got to much in a hurry to loosen
them. I used a small drill to totally blow out the area, then I doweled the
hole I created, then redrilled with the proper size drill to receive the new
eye screw.

Have a totally righteous day, dudes and dudettes.
