Avery,
I can consider the possibility to give a discuont as it follows:

1-When I like to do it.
2-To people who can justify to be in need.
3-To clients that tune often their pianos.
4-To certain educational institutions.
5-To the teacher that referred all his/her students and doesn't
ask for.

But NEVER when anybody calls for the first time and ask for a discount
saying that he/she will recommend me. I answer that it is easy to find
somebody who would like to do that or had lower fees than me.
Some time ago one person called me and told me that she was the mother
of a client of me, and said that she and her daughter would like to tune
their respective pianos. Then asked me for a discount. I accepted to do that
and began with the mother's piano. I am still waiting for the other!!!!!żż??

Avery,it is better to lose clients like that.
