Hi John, Just some additions to your post, one good brand name to look for is Hot Stuff, it comes in three viscosities. Red that is very thin and will wick it's way into almost any crack and even soak down the end grain fibers of wood, orange that is a thicker gap filler, and green the ultra gap filler to fill large cracks. An accelerator is also availiable that will dry the products in seconds. Lee Valley, House of tools, and Canaadian Tire Handles the product, it is also advertised in the Journal.
