Sorry, Ed (and some of the rest of you). You're showing that you don't even qualify to be on the highly regarded Stupidity Scale. :0)) The old dictionary in my office tells me that the shared meaning element in "stupid, dull, dense, crass and dumb" is "lacking in or exhibiting a lack of power to absorb ideas or impressions." If you learn from your mistakes, and especially if you're willing to let others learn from them, you're not stupid--only on the way to becoming even smarter than you already are. The glass isn't half-empty--it's halfway to becoming full! Now, as to my contribution, I have a handful of customers who own player pianos, and one day I misread my scheduling book and went to Thursday's on Wednesday--and they lived a lo-ong way apart. As I recall, Thursday's let me do the work, and Wednesday's let me re-schedule--and gave me the customary root beer and ice cream to boot. Also, when I was taking my tuning test in St. Louis in 1986, a couple of guys brought me a meal and I was too nervous and absent-minded to remember to pay them. Squeaked thru the test, though. BTW, we have a portion of our meetings in the Minnesota-North Iowa Chapter called "Wonders and Ventures," where questions and new knowledge are especially encouraged. Kind of describes the Guild and the List in general. Thanks for sharing, everybody.
