... but it is, of course, a Federal Offence.

Steinway used to give out pennies with holes drilled in them -- during the
sixties, I believe -- and had to stop when the Fed's -- with WAY too much
time on their hands -- got on them about defacing US currency.  They had to
switch to using a sawn-off piece of hexagonal brass stock.  Same thickness,
but not the same thing at all!
