Hi Ed, Yes it is all Baldwin, action made in Mexico. The scale is not old in the 410, but is an exceptionally designed scale for a 4'10" piano. The designer considers it one of his master pieces, and I would agree. The original design was penny pinched and as a result some re-engineering was done. I had some involvement in the addition of an extra brace and plate nose bolt to over come some tortional instability problems. A fixed stretcher was also added to obtain greater case/tuning stability. Do not confuse scale design with a mess up in execution. Baldwin is an honorable company, if Kent Webb is contacted I'm sure a satisfactory resolution can be found. When you mention Asian companys I'm sure you mean Japanese, as I have found some real horror stories in Korean and Chinese pianos, with very little technical support.
