Splicing. What's the trick?

Hi Jim
    Assembly of two correct loops together can also be a problem for
this small brain of mine. (one should have space left for slipping the
string through on one loop).
   Here's how I remember it;   Make a CRUCIFIX with the string pieces.
Bring the two sharp points together for a KISS while keeping the
crucifix.  Now make sure they AGREE with each other by having their loop
stems crossing on the same side (i.e both either under of overhanded).
Slip together   (Remember ther must be Christianity, Love and Agreement
for this marriage to work).
