Let me clarify my statement. The knot is in the core wire knot the winding.

I have also spliced a wire where it broke at the front bridge pin. That was a
little
trickier to make the tie-off_and _the splice and knot have the winding run
into
the
agraffee, it was close though. As far as I know the string is holding.
I look at a tidy knot as the work of a true craftsman.
Anyone can replace a wire,
