Jon,
	Twist the spring rail, in between brackets, by rocking forward and
backward gently. Do quick tests on the most affected notes to see if
there's a reasonable difference.  Be suprised how little of a shim it can
take on top of the rail at the bracket to reduce the spring resistance a
whole bunch.
