Ron, I was in Pep Boys (auto super store) about a month ago, and I was stunned at how inexpensively they are selling engine hoists. Well less that $200 will get you a hydraulic hoist on wheels that is well suited for removing a plate. The hoist I saw broke down for transport, and it was so nice I almost bought one just to have it. I have seen similar hoists in a number of paper and on-line catalogs.
