I have had the experience of the tuning pin bushings blocking any further material or redirecting it to the top of the pinblock instead of the TP hole. Finding a gap in the bushings is a good clue. I have had to physically remove the tuning pins in cases where there is poor access to the TP hole. Wiping the hole and the pin with a medium viscosity has never failed.
