Reading the several articles on 19th century pianos in last month's Journal - "Pianos of Brahms", etc. blew me away. I was always of the mind that all pianos before the modern type were inferior stepping stones to the real thing. No More! I would love to learn more and more about 19th century pianos. Can anyone provide any good references for learning about construction, features, characteristics (how they sound - good points and bad - how they played), and so on. I am........ Eager to learn!
