Diane I once worked on an old upright that the keys would not go down AT ALL. Turns out it was stored in a barn and the mice had completely packed the space under the keys. First I thought it was a player with the keys in the locked position. Also had an organ to service. Removed 10 pounds of dog food from it which had been stored by mice many months before I got to it because the moths had been attracted and had eaten the felt out of the keyframe. Ken Gerler
