Spread a newspaper section on the top. The paper will absorb moisture and not stick to the bench. I have always thought the stickiness came from years of oils left from lots and lots of sweat and furniture polishes. Use a wax stripper and remove all that "stuff" and it likely will not happen again. My opinion. Newton (stuckdownbuttitis)
