Teaching son

Hi,

Why three months on just unisons? Sounds like you mean he should work on
Stability. Either he will be able to hear the beating quickly and
accurately in a week or he will not. I would also suggest borrowing an accu
tuner and connecting the filter output to a small amplifier--that way he
can train to listen *not* at the fundamental but at the 4 or higher partial.

Another factor that you have not mentioned--does he play a musical
instrument like trombone or a stringed instrument where he has already
learned to hear beating? If so things will go much faster. And if he
doesn't play the piano now--then he should go to the best teacher you can
find and get busy!
