Why not to tune a piano?

I am new on the llist, and just catching the dying embers of an argument
on gov't control on piano techs. I don't believe it is necessary to
regulate us in that manner. I believe PTG does an excellent job of
qualifying us for our positions in the piano community. The current tests
are an excellent gauge. There is only one problem with our system as I see
it.....I have to keep reinventing PTG and RPT (not registered physical
therapist) to my customers because we desperately need national
advertising. I, for one would be willing to pay higher dues to finance
this. I really believe PTG could separate us from the tuner wannabes if
Ptg was a household word and my customers didn't wonder if massage
therapy was part of the service, (no, I haven't had requests, thank you).
that's my two cents for what it's worth. Sandra Cooper
