pin driving fluid

>From his book, "A Guide to Restringing", John Travis mentions using powdered
resin, the kind used on violin bows, on oversized tuning pins to prevent
jumping pins.

Travis's comment on the pin driving fluid...."When restringing with a new
pin block, use the Trefz pin-driving fluid, but use it with great care.  A
toothpick application at the very top of the hole with one drop or less is
quite sufficient.  It is not necessary to completely swab the hole with this
varnish-like fluid.  From my own experience, the pins will feel somewhat
loosee at first but two or three tunings later, the "feel" is great."
