Spring by length.

Hi,
Does anyone know where, the springs that are used for the jacks in square
grands is available. I have an older upright, that uses a similar spring.
It is a coil spring that pulls, rather than pushes. It is a coil about
.075",
made from stock of .01". One end is attached to the whippen, and the other
end
is attached to the back of the jack.
I suppose, if I cant buy them, I could make it from brass spring stock,
wound on
a thick piece of bass string core wire.
Any other ideas?
