Lube for plastic flanges?

Protek doesn't (As I understand it) work it's magic on the flange anyway, it
works on the metal of the pin, which rides in the wool of the flange. It's
easy to think that you're putting the lube on the wool bushing, and that's
what's it's doing. What I think it's doing is coating the metal of the pin,
making it slick. If you don't think so, try this: put a small amount on a
piece of cloth and wipe it on the rear duplex area of a grand. The next time
you see that piano, see if masking tape will adhere to it. (It won't)
