Hello Calin,

The action is called Blüthner Patentmechanik,
I have one myself, and have worked on some others. I'm not expert on this but I can share my personal experience.
The action seems to me work fine, it has a long lifetime.
The differense from a double repetition action is that it repetes slower. When you play fast on the same notes. For me it works fine anyway. I can play fast trills, but it depends on how well the action is regulated.
The advantage is that you can "feel" the hammer direct in your hand, it responses quickly. Like on all other action without pivots, where the action is attached direcly on the key.
On an action with pivots there are more friction at the moment where you press the key down, and a very short delay time before you have totally control over the note you are playing.
The Blüthner Patent mechanik also is supposed to have a key dip of only 9 mm. That will let the pianist play fast! It is something to get used to.
To compensate for that ( I think? ) the front rail felt is very soft so you won´t feel like you are hitting the ground.

To work with the action is not so complicated if you follow the specifics.
I´ve seen technicians try to regulate it as if it was a ordinary double repetition action, but on my opinion that didn´t work to good.

I really like my Blüthner and play on it every day.
Goodluck,
