Lengthy?  No.  But I do generally mention the possibility of tearing strings,
and if it appears the pinblock might be faulty so that the tuning won't hold, I
mention that, too.  If it's a concern about cracking the plate that you're
concerned about, I've decided to not mention that, because it has never
happened to me, and I'll deal with that if and when it does.
