Problems with my "new" Dampp-Chaser Hygrometer

The majority of recommendations were for the Dampp-Chaser's Hygrometer, so I
went ahead and placed an order for one.

It arrived yesterday, but when I opened the package the box that held the
hygrometer looked rather old, and obviously used. Sure enough, when I
openned the box and took out the unit, it too looked quite used. The
surface was scratched just about everywhere, as if it had been kept in a
tool box and banged around.

Then when I installed the battery, I discovered the LED lights for the
Humidity readout were not functioning properly. The two digits dont even
resemble numbers, as if the LED lights were out, but then some would come
on, and others would go out.

It is pretty obvious that I was sent a returned unit, as in no way could it
be considered new.

I sent a message to Dampp-Chaser regarding the situation, and hopefully they
will send me a new unit as soon as possible. So far, I'm not terribly
impressed... *sigh*
