I have been a couple of pianos with their tuningpins close together that it made it impossible to place the tuning hammer onto a tuningpin without disturbing the next unless you had a thinner tip which might be available from American who took over Hale when they went under. By using a thin wall tip you should be able to successfully do the job without disturbing the notes surrounding the pin that your tuning hammer is on, "What a nuisance to have to have a special tuning tip for just one piano". You probably won't use this tip again in years to come unless you are lucky enough to tune the piano on a regular basis.
