Rather that rebuild the wippens, why not purchase new ones? The best way is
to contact Renner and purchase the parts kit then use them as a sample in the
action to see which one will work correctly.

A fellow technician (who is not subscribed) has an old Steinway "O"
(approx 1910-15) and is rebuilding the action. The problem that he
wishes to address is the lack of jack adjustment. There is only a piece
of felt where the top of the jack come to rest in the repetition lever
window, but no screw to adjust the fore and aft position of the top of
the jack. Does anyone have a suggestion for rebuilding these wippens?
Right now, he sees his options as 1) total replacement, or 2)
painstakingly trimming new felt to position the jack in the correct
 position.
