Hey, great! Thanks for the info. Now I know I will never know for sure until I get John Broadwood to check it out himself, but can you list a few reasons why you rule out the early 1820s date? (I agree with you and am 80some% convinced it is early 1870s.) I have pictures if that would help. ANYONE: Does anyone know whether any manufacturer put full plates (though sectional - meaning you can unbolt the hitchpin plate and the tuning pin/block plate) as early as the 1820s? Or was it later?
