Hi,

I had a black Baudet upright - original, I thought, because the
unpainted, inlaid brass fallboard label was set in a slip of plain
veneer, but the case was veneered in nicely matched Rosewood. I have two
ex-painted grands, one was white latex the other black flock paint, both
over Rosewood. I wouldn't mind so much if it was Oak...

Sometimes intentionally black pianos don't have very beautiful or
matched veneers.
