Paul, Go with the two cloth method. I think it's a pretty good idea conceptually. Glue in the first cloth and then insert the inner cloth without glue. The friction between the two layers keeps the inner in place. I used to use one layer of thick cloth until I stopped to reason why they used the two cloth method. I didn't channel Henry Steinway or anything, so I don't know the exact rational, but this seems logical. Mark Story. The old bushings came out in two pieces, one which was very thin, the other like key bushing cloth. This is my first bushing job, so I've got some bushing cloth from a supply house, but don't know where to find the thin cloth (it's black). The bushing cloth I have is not thick enough, so the fit of the damper wire is loose. Any suggestions? Thanks! Paul McCloud San Diego
