Dear List.
This is the first message I write. Iīm piano technology &tuning apprentice yet and I have a lot of problems at this moment, specially with the stability of the tuning. I spend so much time tuning the trebble zone, because I have to repeat it twice or three times while the rest of the piano is tuned stable and much more easily. When I finish the piano and I check it I see most of the treble notes are out of tune again like if I didnīt tune them. Could you explain me some tricks or technics to make the tuning much more stable in the time I spend making just one tuning? My tuning is good as well in the central and bass strings but not the same quality and accuracy level in he treble, not only for the stabiliy. Can somebody tell me some technics or tricks.
Another thing I want to ask, specially to the USA members. Baldwin pianos were very much sold in my country (Spain) and in my city like if they are the best pianos in the world. I have speaked with some colleagues about them, and all thinks the same point that me: the tuning stability is very low, and he mechanism not so good (I speak about uprights, I never see Baldwin grands), and they are not currently available in the local shops. But I have read a article in any place that says they are getting so goos, now, specially from the 90īs until now. Do anybody can tell their opinion about his brand.
And the last point: I have read inthe list somebody asking about Rosler pianos. I think they are very bad. The sound is good when they are new, bt three or four years after it goes much worse. The strings have a lot of false beats, and the mechanically is not good as well. I think is an appropiate piano for a children that is starting with piano and are not sure if he has choose his favourite instrument.
Thank You very much.
Iņaki Coello Gómez.
