rim laminations

I have noticed that also Ron. I have no idea of when or how long. Do you
think the darker wood is mahogany or would it likely be one of the many
"select hardwood"s from Asia - like maybe luan or one of the many strange
things they have growing down in the Philippines, etc.? And I suppose that
goes for the lighter wood also.
