Cracked plate

On some very much like a bass string braking but on others like a shot
gun,  so I have been told,  the 2 plates I have had go on me both went
with a whimper both were uprights and dropped about a semi from pitch,
the ones that go with a big bang tend to drop the pitch all the way.
