That's to distinguish it from the Springboard, which it obviously is not; the Summer Board, which used to meet in mid July in Minnesota, but definitely not in a piano; or the Winter Board, which is on another piano altogether. Or maybe it's just insipid, boring, and wearisome. Lusterless. Perhaps it's intended for playing only the music of dead composers.
