I remember seeing some pedals on old Lyon & Healy grands that the brass pedal top would pivot towards the player. It was pinned in the front and had a sizable shoe? (curved back) raising the height of the pedal by several inches.I always thought that it was very clever. You could not tell by just looking at the pedal I discovered it by chance. I still have two of these pianos in my clientele. Mark Ritchie RPT
