Hi Paul As for the voicing stability issue I'm getting to the opinion that in general the harder the intrinsic nature of the felt is pressed the less inherent stability. Conversely even a less densely pressed felt/ hammer(but not flabby) even with some juice applied in my opinion has better stability characteristics( I've got my bullet proof voicing vest on take yer best shot) I know I just made a generalization but it's one I'll own.
