Fellow Pianotechs around the planet:

How do you repair a broken damper rod hook? I had two of them silver =
soldered by someone else. One has lasted for many years. But the most =
recent one only held for about 4 weeks. One my mentors from way back =
told of using a smooth nail of the correct diameter bent at a 90 degree =
angle fitted into the rod. Schaff has replacement pins which are =
straight. I assume they have to be bent after installation. They're =
very inexpensive, but a minimum order would have to be placed. Has =
anyone else tried the nail approach? Any other suggestions?

Thanks for any ideas!
