 I have seen player equipped key frames fastened down with bolts/washers sunk 
into the keybed such as you describe...but most of those have been equipped 
with a tuning pin shaped bolt head. If your square head bolts are spaced 
evenly across the front of the keybed I think probably this is a variation of 
this fastening system?
