Terry, The tip you have is about 1/2 the size of the one I have. It's the spring loaded "sleeve" that I'm talking about. It's ID is .50" and that's just too big to be of any use except pounding railroad spikes and 10/0 tuning pins. :-) The "magnetic" tip that came with it, is probably an ok diameter, but I don't like the magnetic aspect. (Hmm! I wonder if anyone has done a study of magnetism in regards to piano strings?) Besides, the "magnetic" one is miss-bored and is off center of the center of the tip. What else would I expect for something from China? Dummy me! :-) Regards, Joe Garrett ----- Original Message ----- From: "Farrell" <mfarrel2@tampabay.rr.com> To: <pianotech@ptg.org> Sent: Monday, May 07, 2001 7:00 PM Subject: Re: Air Hammer > FYI, the tip that came with my Danair Palm Nailer has the following specs. > Maximum Nail Head Diameter: 21/64" > Size Penny Nail: 3-8 > Model Number: RN 16-8 > > I find that it would be OK if the tip were a bit smaller - but it is just > fine as-is.
