I just got back from a warranty call to a school where a Yamaha WX1 was squeaking like crazy. It turned out to be the plastic capstan/whip cloth interface, a serious application of powdered teflon stopped it. I'm wondering if anyone else has heard this and, if so, if it will come back. If it does I'm going to assume it has to do with the factory lubrication on the plastic parts, I'd have to take the keys and buff and relube the capstans. It was a loud noise and made the piano fairly useless for teaching. Thanks in advance for any advice. -- --Dave ----------------------------- Dave Doremus Algiers Piano Works Tuning and Restoration of Modern and Historical Stringed Keyboard Instruments New Orleans algiers_piano@bellsouth.net ------------------------------
