There are indeed lots of dead boards out there. Some deader than others
but sustain and singing tone (subject evaluations) are basic
requirements. It is not possible to make a silk purse out of a sow's
ear nor is it possible to make a singing board out of a dead "timber".

Beading a dead horse is an exercise in futility and annoys your
neighbors, not to mention the SPCA.

Knowing what the limits of any given board are will define what can be
done for it. "If it ain't got that swing..."

Look, listen, evaluate, learn, compare and share.
