Unwrapped ends of bass strings

Hi Avery,

Sometimes they do. Steinway has/had an in house string maker but I have
no idea of the current status.  

I have learned, by watching Ari Isaac, that string making is not just
putting some copper on a steel core.  Just like so many other things in
life, speed can ruin the result.  

I do have my own opinions.
