Hi Terry, That was the point, I was trying to make. The tech had felt the rod, it was on. Only since he had taken it out of an air-conditioned car, (the customer confirmed this) the humidistat, being slow acting was still in a low humidity mode, so the heater/dehumidifier did not come on in the de-humidifier socket, so he put it in the humidifier socket, where it did work. This is just a possible scenario, for a reason to plug it in the wrong socket. The house was not air-conditioned, and was humid. I reread it this time. Regards, John M.
