Hey Brian,
Check your handy dandy Journal-on-disc for Spurlock's router setup. If you
want to do it for zero investment, a 10" tablesaw works quite nicely (did
it that way for years, both planing and notching), and plan on an extra
hour of (yuck) hand filing.
