Paul Monachino can tell you everything you ever wanted to know about Mason & Hamlin's history. They were made in Boston until about 1930, then at some point made in Rochester NY while part of Aeolian. Production started in the Boston area again in 1990, in Haverhill MA (about 30 miles northeast of Boston) in what was once a shoe factory. Z! What I am getting at, is were they made in the same factory both pre-Aeolian & when Aeolian owned M&H? Are they now made in the same factory? I am aware that the new M&H is working from original blueprints and has many of the original machines, molds, presses, etc. that were used by M&H back at the turn of the century - the next to last one that is, i.e. 1900. Does anyone know if Aeolean cut any corners when making the major structural components of the piano, i.e. the rims, keybed, belly rail, or plate - anything that cannot be readily fixed? What kind of Renners did you use. And, just curious, who is Paul Manichino? Thanks. Terry Farrell Standard Renners. Just tell them they are for a M&H BB. Paul Manachino is a long time M&H employee who used to work for the factory in Rochester and then some. He has been employed by Renner to teach classes and promote the product. Very nice man, and extremely knowledgeable about "the way they used to make pianos." Wim
