harp tuning

Hi Ron:  A member of the Sacramento Valley Chapter, John Fuller, is also a
harpist. I remember him describing the way he tuned his instrument to
compensate for the idiosyncrasies of an orchestra when he played with one.
He would stretch the upper octaves to match the high woodwinds, and also the
lower octaves to match the low brass and strings.  How much, I don't know. I
believe he tuned aurally at the time.  Patrick Poulson, RPT
