Another method is to grab the wire with a side cutter or vise grips and then
use a pair of automotive "O-ring" pliers (they open when squeezed) between
the cutters and the key to pry the wire out.. Use a small hardwood block or
piece of metal etc to prevent the pliers from marring the key (or key frame
in the case of removing key pins).
